We were looking for a place to stay when we scheduled the wine tour as a late birthday getaway. My eye caught the Payne Jailhouse Bed & Breakfast as I used to work for a sheriff and police dept. We were able to book the “Caribbean” room. Our room had a king sized bed, was colorful and reminded you of a tropical getaway. We had the first floor to ourselves. There was a large up to date shower. The owners Anna Sue and Mark were very attentive to our needs right down to breakfasts being prepared. You knew Anna Sue had put a lot of effort into the preparation and serving of our breakfast. Mark told us the history of the house and the restoration project that they undertook. I found out my uncle had actually helped restore the house and was friends with the owners. Be sure to write your name on the dining room wall. They also have a journal in your room to leave a message for future guests. Our room had complimentary water, pop, chocolate, nuts and popcorn. The room also has a microwave and refrigerator. There is a microbrewery going in across the street.
